TOURS TO PHILADELPHIA, NEW YORK CITY, AND ATLANTIC CITY!
OCT. 16TH – 21ST, 2012

(Special Note: This trip
can be combined with the
Penn
State Walking Weekend, which starts Oct. 12th – 14th.) For
those flying in from other parts of the country, depending on
the numbers, I can provide, for a fee, walks, hotel, and
transportation on the 15th. We will do the walk at Ft. McHenry
in Baltimore and Inner Harbor on Oct. 15th)
Oct. 16th: (Tues.) Depart the Gunther Parking Lot, near
Baltimore, Maryland for the 1st of two walks in the
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. Philadelphia East Walk goes
through historical/cultural Philadelphia. See where the
Declaration of
Independence was signed as well as Independence Hall, Liberty
Bell, Betsy Ross House, the Delaware waterfront,
Italian Marketplace and Chinatown. The Philadelphia West Walk
passes some of the same sights as the East Walk
but also walks past City Hall, various museums, and the famous
Art Museum where Rocky runs up the steps. Also walks along the
Schuylkill River passing Boathouse Row and the lighthouse at
Turtle Rock.

Oct. 17th: (Wed.) This day will be spent inside Valley
Forge National Park! We will first visit the Welcome Center
to view the film and possibly have a step-on guide for a guided
tour. There are two walks that start from here.
Pass most of the major memorials, state monuments, log huts, and
Washington’s Headquarters. Return to our hotel.
Oct. 18th: (Thur.) Depart the Philadelphia area and drive
to New York City for the Lower Manhattan Walk. This walk
goes down the Hudson River Esplanade with Views of Ellis Island
and the Statue of Liberty, South Street Seaport, the
Financial District with Wall Street, the New York Stock Exchange
and the World Trade Center area with new Museum. Continue to our
hotel located in Secaucus, New Jersey for 3 nights at the La
Quinta Inn & Suites. (201) 863-8700 Continental Breakfast

Oct. 19th: (Fri.) This day will be spent walking the
Central Park and Midtown Manhattan Walks. The Central Park
walk passes many significant sites, including the Jackie Kennedy
Reservoir and many museums. The Mid-Town Manhattan
Walk goes by Times Square, Madison Square Garden, the UN
Complex, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. (Tour a museum or
the U.N. Complex on your own!)
Oct. 20th: (Sat.) The 4th Walk in New York City
will be the Greenwich Village Walk. Walk the Chelsea area and
the fairly new “HIGH LINE”. Go to

more information. We are planning to attend the matinee of
“Sister Act” at the Broadway Theatre in the afternoon. Go

Oct. 21st: (Sun.) Depart the New York City area and drive
to the “Las Vegas of the East Coast”, Atlantic City, New Jersey
for year round event. This walk will have you walking the famous
Boardwalk passing several casinos. After the walk, return to the
Baltimore area.
$100.00 will reserve your seat on this great trip to
Philadelphia, New York City, and Atlantic City!
