TATER TOURS TO NEW YORK CITY &
MORE MAY 14TH – 18TH, 2011
May 14th (Sat.): Depart the Gunther Parking Lot, near Baltimore,
Maryland and drive to New York
City for Intrepid Aircraft Carrier tour. Later that day will be
spent walking the Central Park event. This walk is almost
entirely in the Park and goes past several Museums. Hotel
accommodations at the Hampton Inn in Carlstadt, New Jersey, 5
miles from the Lincoln Tunnel for 2 nights. (201) 935-9000
Continental Breakfast included.
May 15th (Sun.): Participate in the Mid-Town Manhattan walk.
This walk goes by Times
Square, Madison Square Garden, the UN Complex, and St. Patrick’s
Cathedral. In the afternoon we will enjoy the Matinee Broadway
Show, “Million Dollar Quartet”. Return to our hotel.
May 16th (Mon.): Drive North to participate in the walk at the
United States Military Academy at
West Point. This walk passes all of West Point’s historic
monuments, Cadet barracks, chapels and
takes in views of the Hudson River Valley. In the afternoon, we
will travel to Ft. Montgomery for another event.
Visit this historic Battle Site of the American Revolution, then
walk to Fort Clinton and within the
Trailside Museum and Zoo in Bear Mountain Park. Hotel
accommodations for 2 nights at Poughkeepsie Grand

May 17th (Tues.): Tour and Lunch at the Culinary Institute of
America in the morning. In the afternoon we will participate in
Walkway Over the Hudson event. The walk takes you over the
world’s tallest and longest elevated pedestrian bridge and
through the streets of Poughkeepsie. Return to our hotel.
May 18th (Wed.) : Participate in the last event of the trip
located in Hyde Park. The trail goes past the Franklin Delano
Roosevelt Home and Library, past the Vanderbilt Mansion, as well
as through the village of Hyde Park.
Great views again of the Hudson River!
Start our journey back to Maryland and return to Gunthers. Hotel
accommodations that night can be made at the Holiday Inn
Express, near BWI Airport and Gunthers. Please let me know first
that you need reservations and I will try and get a group rate.
