Bear Necklace and Earrings
Strung with Turquoise
This beautiful set of fetish carving bears is inlaid with a coral, jet, mother of pearl and turquoise Zuni sunface on each piece.
Dilbert Gasper is a well-respected jewelry and fetish carver. He has etched both sides of these jet bears (some call it black marble) and then has strung them with beautiful natural turquoise beads. Each bear has turquoise inlaid eyes on front and back. Beautiful detail!
He has signed the piece on the bottom of the large centerpiece bear.
The necklace is finished with a sterling hook clasp. It measures 23 inches in length. The largest bear measures just over 2 and 3/4 inches long. The smaller bears measure just over 1 and 1/4 inches long.
This is the same for the earring bears (hook earrings). The earrings are included with the set and I prefer not to separate them. Price will be the same for a full or partial set.

About Zuni Jewelry
Just as the Navajo did not do silverwork as part of their culture, the Zuni did not make things out of silver until the late 1800's.
In fact, the Zuni were introduced to silverwork by the Navajo people.
When you shop for Native American jewelry, you will soon be able to recognize Zuni work by its style and quality of craftsmanship.
